About Kayla Bull

Psychology (Hons) PG DIP Palliative Medicine (UCT)

A warm and gentle welcome to Counselling with Kayla. I’m Kayla Bull, and I’m so glad you’re here. I qualified as a registered counsellor in 2015 in Cape Town. After some time spent travelling through Asia, I returned to South Africa in 2019. My passion for psychology was reignited during the pandemic when I began volunteering at a hospice in Cape Town. Seeing the profound need for psychological and social services within the community inspired me to return to the field.

Therapy is for anyone and everyone.

Areas Of interest

I have extensive experience in mindfulness, breathwork, and physical movement through my yoga training. These practices have shown me the deep connection between mind and body, helping us to better understand and navigate our emotional struggles.

General Counselling

If you’re seeking support and guidance, I offer short-term solution-focused therapy. My counselling sessions are a non-judgemental space where you can safely explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Together, we’ll work to gain insights into your patterns and develop practical tools to create positive change.

I currently run a private psychology practice in Goodwood, where I invite you to a space dedicated to your exploration and growth. My approach is centred around you—your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I look forward to walking alongside you as we find a clear pathway forward together.

Palliative care services

In addition to general counselling, I also provide psychological and social palliative care services. This means I’m here to support patients and their families facing serious illness, helping you cope with the emotional and psychological aspects of their illness journey.

I completed a post graduate diploma in Palliative Medicine at the University of Cape Town in 2022 and I am currently completing a Master of Philosophy in Palliative Medicine also at UCT. My approach is gentle and compassionate, focusing on both your mental well-being and the challenges that come with illness.

I’m here to walk alongside you.

Whether you’re dealing with life’s everyday struggles or navigating a difficult health journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
